“The rose of the tide”
STORY
In Greek mythology, Galene was one of the Nereids—sea nymphs, daughters of the sea god Nereus and Doris. Her name means “calm seas” or “stillness,” and she was the embodiment of the tranquil ocean. Where other sea deities ruled the wildness of storms and wrathful waves, Galene reigned over serenity—moments when the sea rests, almost like it's breathing softly.
This soft pink gem shimmered with a hue rare in the ocean’s domain. Legend says it was once a petal from a coral flower, offered to Galene by Amphitrite, the Queen of the Sea, as a symbol of sisterhood. Over time, Galene’s breath—infused with stillness—hardened the petal into a gem. It carries a memory of vulnerability—of softness surviving in a place of currents and shadows.
The rose-pink stone was set into a drop earring by a forgotten artisan who claimed to hear the sea whisper. When worn, the earring is said to soothe storms in the wearer’s heart, granting clarity in emotional chaos.
