STORY
The moon and the sun were commonly referred to by the ancient Egyptians as "the two lights", and the weaker light of the Moon is compared to the evening Sun. The sun is the giver of life, controlling the ripening of crops which were worked by man. Because of the life-giving qualities of the sun the Egyptians worshiped the sun as a god. The creator of the universe and the giver of life, the sun or Ra represented life, warmth and growth.
Isis, the goddess of motherhood, healing, magic and fertility, was the inspiration the crescent moon symbol, believed by the Egyptians to bring good fortune to all mothers and their children.The crescent is a symbol of the lunar power of the moon, fertility, motherhood, rebirth and the birth cycle.
It is considered the sun shining at night, the eye of hours, and can be found with the god Khonsu.
